We ran the same concept as at NDC last year, which was already planned but as JavaZone was canceled due to Covid-19 in 2021 we never got that opportunity.
But now we got it and it was a hit - this year again!
We had a GoKart simulator on stand and a competition with the possibility of winning a MACBOOK PRO which created long queues - here it was all about driving as fast as possible. On the other side of the booth, it was first come, first serve to get a real free tattoo. There were surprisingly many people who dared to get a real tattoo in a very different setting as there were many people watching. Many of them were so spontaneous and got their very first tattoo! How cool is that, really? There was a long wait but people were patient and had many good conversations in the queue.
There is something very special about being at a conference and building networks. Strike up a conversation with people you might not necessarily want to talk to, and listen to all the exciting things others are working on on a daily basis.
