Knut is Teamleader SIS and administrative officer in Ruter and we are happy about Knut's involvement in Ruter. He is an important resource for our customer and us at TECHPROS.
Can you describe your role?
Today I actually have two roles! I am Teamleader SIS (Real Time System). It involves the responsibility for a team that maintains and develops real time in Ruter. This applies to information on buses and signs at bus stops. Furthermore, I have administrative responsibility for the new signs. Mainly on the subway and in advertising-financed shelters/stops. This means monitoring the signs, and reporting errors to the supplier if there is an error on the sign.
What do your tasks consist of?
My task is to monitor and follow up the system and equipment. Furthermore, there is a lot of follow-up of finances and follow-up of SLAs with suppliers. Furthermore, I work a lot with planning any new stops, and any real-time information (signs) on these.
Are there any results you are particularly proud of?
Recently, we have carried out a major change to all the signs in Ruter's area. From getting real time from the proprietary old system (SIS), the signs now get real time from Ruter's own generated data. This results in much greater precision (the vehicles report their position every second). This is a major improvement that gives Ruter's customers much better information at stops.
